NYPD defeats FDNY in shootout

After dropping the past two Battle on the Pitch via penalty kicks, the NYPD team earned a measure of revenge against FDNY, winning a shootout at Red Bull Arena on Sunday.

The Finest defeated the Bravest in penalties after playing to a scoreless draw, after the Red Bulls defeated FC Dallas in a Major League Soccer encounter.

NYPD goalkeeper Tim Kelch made two saves in the tie-breaker, denying FDNY a shootout goal.

Edwin Negron, Diego Martinez, Carlos Villacres and Kyle Hurst converted their spot kicks for the NYPD.

It turned out to be quite a memorable day for the NYPD, which won twice in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League.

The police's second team blanked FC Japan, 2-0, before its first team rallied fro a two-goal deficit to register a 3-2 victory over the same club.
