CSL INDOOR TOURNAMENT
Manhattan Celtic looks to hold on to its Premier Division title

Holders Manhattan Celtic begin its defense of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League Indoor Premier Division title against New York Pancyprians at the SuperDome in Waldwick, N.J. on Sunday.
The two sides are drawn in Group G, whose other members are Ramsey FC Black and SC Vistula Garfield.
Also bidding for the title again are New York Athletic Club, edged 1-0 by Celtic in last year’s final at the SuperDome. NYAC was drawn in Group H with SC Polonia Wallington, New York Dinamo and Vllaznimi FPSH.
Rounding off the field in the Premier Division are Ramsey FC Yellow, Jersey City Eagles, Hoboken FC 1912 and Team ‘Z” in Group I.

With the bulk of his 2012 championship side returning to the SuperDome, Celtic coach Ian Woodcock can’t be blamed for feeling bullish.
“We’ll have a decent squad and will give it our best shot,” the Irish native said. “We’re rough and ready.”
Leading the Celtic attack again will be Julien Greco whose lone effort in the 1-0 decision over NYAC in the final clinched the then Second Division side the Premier title. It was his team-high sixth goal of the day-long tournament.
Also back for the Celts are striker Austin McCann, midfielder Charlie Grover, veteran defender Pat Kelly, Scotsmen Adam Mitchinson and Barrie Taylor and Irishman Barry Harbison.
Still, not wanting to underrate the opposition, Woodcock, who will turn out for the Celtic old timers in the competition’s Over-30s section, said: “There are quality teams in it like Pancyprians and as the old saying goes we shall respect all but fear none.”
The Premier Division winners will bag a $1,000 cash prize.

In the eight-team Open Division, defending champions BW G Cosmos and 2012 losing finalists Manhattan Kickers are drawn apart in the first round.
SWEET SIXTEEN
Sixteen teams, meanwhile, are in contention for the Over-30 indoor crown whose previous winners, New York Albanians won’t be in attendance.
The tournament runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All games in the run-up to the final will be 14 minutes in duration. The final will be 18 minutes.
