HITTING THE WALL BigAppleSoccer editor Lewis to be inducted into the Rochester Lancers' Wall of Fame Saturday
BigAppleSoccer.com Editor Michael Lewis will be inducted into the Rochester Lancers Wall of Fame at Saturday's home game against the Baltimore Blast at the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.
Lewis is among six inductees in this year's induction class. He joins former players Tito Laurini, Mauro Felipe, Charlie Mitchell and Nelson Cupello and ex-Lancers announcer Wayne Fuller.
Less than a year out of college, Lewis was assigned to cover the Lancers, who then competed in the North American Soccer League in 1975. He covered the Lancers through the 1980 season, when the team dropped out of the NASL.
Lewis considered his time in Rochester an "experience and memories I would not have traded for the world."
The current-day Lancers perform in the Major Indoor Soccer League.
