TRIPLE CROWN G-A Atlas captures ENY final of U.S. Open Cup
Jamaica, Queens -- Greek-American Atlas made it a rare triple as it captured the Eastern New York State Amateur Soccer Association final of the Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup Wednesday night.
G-A Atlas scored twice in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory over archrival New York Pancyprians at St. John's University.
The club will represent ENY in three national competitions -- the U.S. Amateur Cup, the Men's Over-30 Cup and the Open Cup.
G-A Atlas defeated the Pancyprians in the Amateur Cup state final last week.
On Wednesday, Ernest Murdukaayev and Rickey Ordain scored for G-A Atlas in the second half.
