Felician men blanked at Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA -- A breakaway goal by Chestnut Hill College in the 23rd minute lifted the Griffins to a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's victory over Felician College at CHC Campus Field on Saturday afternoon.

In a match which was relatively evenly played, the decisive moment came following a Chestnut Hill corner kick. The ball was deflected out of the box, but chased down by forward Gavin Reid. Reid beat the defense down the left side and found the back of the net at 22:19.

CHC (8-4, 5-2) owned a slight 12-11 edge in shots and a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Mike Goldstein (Pennsauken, N.J.) earned the shutout with five saves. Keeper John Weber (Morris Plains, NJ) made two saves for the Golden Falcons (1-9, 1-5).

Felician fell to 0-6 on the season in games decided by one goal.
