WINTER TRANSFER
Collazo joins Monmouth women

Midfielder-defender Breynn Collazo has transfered from the University of Louisville to Monmouth University for the fall season.

“We are excited that Breynn has joined our program," Monmouth coach Krtissy Turner said. "She is a successful student-athlete who will make an immediate contribution to our team this spring.”

Collazo, whose brother Chris was a standout all-conference baseball player for Monmouth from 2006-09 finished his career tied for the all-time lead in hits, made two appearances for the Cardinals as a freshman in 2011. The Cardinals, who finished the year with a 14-7-3 record and an 8-1-2 mark in the Big East, advanced to the third round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Collazo earned minutes in UL victories over Eastern Kentucky and Notre Dame as a freshman.

Collazo played at Wall High School in Wall, N.J., under Jaimie Silva and earned all-division, all-conference, all-county and all-state honors. She also won the John Cobb Senior Excellence Award for Monmouth County, and played club soccer for the Twin County Crew and was a member of the New Jersey ODP Team in 2008-09.
