WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Monmouth University men's team was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Team Academic Award Winner for the fourth consecutive year, the organization recently announced.
A total of 732 soccer teams (225 men, 505 women) posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year. The Hawks posted a 3.09 GPA.
“I am very proud of the guys,” Monmouth coach Robert McCourt said. “This is our fourth year in a row being recognized for academic achievement. Not only are the guys winning on the field, but they are also winners in the classroom.”
