Louisville junior forward Charlyn Corral is one of nine at-large nominees for the Soccer News Net Women’s College Boot, recognizing the national player of the year.

Corral, of Mexico City, Mexico (Technologico de Monterrey) was named Big East Midfielder of the Year and NSCAA First Team All-Northeast Region after she tallied 19 points, including eight goals in conference play. The junior had 52 shots in 11 league games, more than any other Big East player, and a point in seven of 11 conference games. Overall she amassed a team-high 23 points, including eight goals and seven assists. The junior earned Big East Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 22. A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Corral is an athletic forward with extensive international experience playing for the Mexican National team. She was a member of Mexican National team at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany, seeing action in one match.

Fan voting accounts for 40% of the total toward selection of the Soccer News Net College Boot. Voting for the College Boot is open through December 22.
