Notre Dameís Finley is Soccer News Net menís college player of the year
Notre Dame forward Ryan Finley is the winner of the Soccer News Net College Boot, recognizing the national player of the year.

The award is based on fan balloting, which concluded on December 23, and on voting by the staff of the seven Soccer News net web sites: BigAppleSoccer.com, ChicagolandSoccerNews.com, DallasSoccerNews.com, DCSoccerNews.com, LASoccerNews.com, NewEnglandSoccerNews.com and PhillySoccerNews.com.
Finley, from Lumberton, N.J. (Rancocas Valley/PDA), was named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year, First Team NSCAA All-American and one of three finalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy. He also was one of two unanimous selections to the all-conference first team. He led all Big East players with 12 goals in league play and ranked second nationally with 18 regular season goals in addition to being third in total points with 40. Finley had five multiple-goal games this season, including a hat trick against Providence. Including the postseason, Finley played in all 22 Fighting Irish games this season, and ranked second nationally in goals scored (21) and points (46). The senior forward was third nationally in goals per game (0.95) and fourth in points per game (2.09).
