MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
FDU’s Antony Moore
Fairleigh Dickinson senior midfielder Antony Moore has been named the BigAppleSoccer.com Men’s College Player of the Week for the week ending November 18.
Moore had a goal and two assists as the Knights advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament with upset wins over St. John’s and St. Louis, both on the road.
The Knights started their improbable run on Thursday, with a 1-0 win over the Red Storm at Belson Stadium. Moore scored the only goal of the game in the 36th minute. Freshman Jan Aubert’s shot was blocked by a defender and the ball found Moore, who fired the ball into the upper left corner of the net.
On Sunday, Moore set the table for the Knights’ go-ahead goal against the Billikens in the 56th minute, sending a cross from the right corner to Aubert, who found the back left side of the net. In the third minute of the second overtime, after sophomore Nico Wright and a SLU defender fell to the ground about 20 yards in Billikens’ territory, Moore went down the right sideline and sent a cross into the penalty area to Jack McVey, who put away the golden goal from 10 yards.
