Hofstra senior defender Sue Weber (Islip, L.I.) earned two honors for her academic and athletic success, earning the Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer scholar-athlete of the year award, as well as first-team scholar All-America honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Junior midfielder Edel Malone scored the game’s only goal and junior goalkeeper Krystal Robens set school records with her seventh successive shutout and her 12th shutout of the season as Hofstra recorded a 1-0 win over Ohio State in the opening round of the NCAA Division I tournament in sub-freezing temperatures on Friday night.

Malone gives Hofstra 1-0 win over VCU -- again -- to qualify for Division I tournament
Two years ago midfielder Edel Malone scored the lone goal of the game to give the Hofstra women a 1-0 win over Virginia Commonwealth en route to the Colonial Athletic Association championship. On Sunday, Malone continued to be a thorn in VCU's side, striking for the only goal in the 83rd minute to lift the Pride to another 1-0 victory in the CAA title match the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The Pride clinched a berth in the NCAA Division I women's tournament for the second time in the last three years.

DeRosa lifts Hofstra women into CAA semis
Senior forward Brooke DeRosa scored a goal in each half and junior goalkeeper Krystal Robens tied her career high with eight saves to earn her fifth shutout in a row as the second-seeded Hofstra women advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association final with a 2-0 win over third-seeded James Madison Friday.
