WILMINGTON, N.C. - Sisters Erin and Courtney Breen combined to score both goals while goalkeeper Emily Morphitis made three saves for her second consecutive shutout as Hofstra recorded a 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the University of North Carolina-Wilmington at the UNCW Soccer Stadium on Sunday.

The Pride improved to 9-7 overall and 5-5 in league action. The Seahawks slipped to 3-14 and 1-8 . The win kept Hofstra's CAA playoff aspirations alive headed into the final regular season match Saturday at Northeastern.

Erin Breen opened the scoring at 13:14 when she scored on a rebound for her first career goal. Laura Greene, who had the initial shot, and Sam Scolarici assisted on the goal.

Courtney Breen upped Hofstra's advantage to 2-0 in the 71st minute when she headed home a corner kick from Erin Havard for her fifth goal of the season.

The shutout in goal was Morphitis' third of the season. Junior keeper Caitlin Hunter recorded 10 saves for the hosts.

The Pride held a 21-9 shot advantage.

Hofstra closes the regular season at Northeastern at 3 p.m. Saturday.
