Rutgers’ Kene Eze

Rutgers junior forward Kene Eze has been named the Men’s College Player of the Week for the week ending October 28.

Eze scored two goals, including the game-winner in extratime, as Rutgers defeated Villanova, 3-2, in a Big East game at Yurcak Field on Wednesday night.

Sophomore defender Thomas O’Rourke brought the ball down the field, crossing a pass to Eze off the end line. He headed the shot into the bottom left of the net for his fourth game-winning goal of the season in the 98th minute.

Eze put the Scarlet Knights up 2-1 in the 87th minute. Coming from 18 yards on the left side, Eze beat two defenders and buried a shot into the upper portion of the net.
