St. John's coach Dave Masur recently spent a week in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., assisting the U-18 Men's National Team. The team, coached by Bob Jenkins, spent the week training and also played three games.

St. John's misses NCAA tournament
For the first time since 1991, the Red Storm missed the Big Dance, the selection committee deciding that its 9-7-5 record and Big East quarterfinal loss at Notre Dame wasn't enough this year. The Red Storm didn't have one win over a top-25 team and went 1-3-1 in its last five games, two important criteria the selection committee looks at when making their picks.

Neal Kitson is comfortable facing penalty kicks. And that proved to be a very good thing for the St. John's men's soccer team Wednesday night. The redshirt junior goalkeeper made two saves in a penalty kick shootout to help lift the Red Storm to a first-round victory over Seton Hall in the Big East tournament at Belson Stadium.

After finishing the season with a 6-5-0 BIig East record, the St. John’s women’s soccer team earned the No. 4 seed in the American Division and will face Rutgers, the No. 5 seed in the National Division, in the first round of the Big East tournament. The game will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Belson Stadium.

SJU women beat Providence in OT, 2-1
Just days after defeating No. 18 Connecticut with a golden goal in the second overtime, the Red Storm women’s soccer team defeated Providence 2-1 on a golden goal with just 23 seconds left in the second overtime. Amanda Santos tallied the game-winner as the Red Storm improved to 11-5-2 (6-5-0 Big East). Providence, meanwhile, dropped to 3-14-1 (2-9-0 Big East).
