Stony Brook senior midfielder Leonardo Fernandes on Friday was named second-team All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

He enjoyed an outstanding season that saw him score nine goals and assist on seven others for 25 points. Five of his nine goals were game-winners, and he assisted on game-winning goals three times.

The North Babylon, N.Y. resident was named America East midfielder of the year and first-team All-America East. He was also named to the America East championship all-tournament team while helping the Seawolves reach the semifinals for the fourth consecutive season.

Fernandes wrapped up his Stony Brook career as the program's all-time leader in points with 79. He also is third in goals (31) and third in assists (17), and he ranks first in the program's Division I history in each category.
