Glen Cove, N.Y. native Mike Grella scored for Scunthorpe United again, but it wasn't enough as his English League One team dropped a 2-1 decision to Crew Alexandra on Tuesday.

After the newly promoted side grabbed a 1-0 lead in the opening minute through a spectacular goal by striker Adam Leitch-Smith, Grella equalized in the 14th minute.

Robbie Gibbons took a corner kick that was headed against the crossbar by David Mirfin. The ball fell back to Josh Walker on the edge of the penalty area and he chipped a cross that Grella put home.

Luke Murphy scored the game-winner in the 72bd minute.

Grella had an active game. In the 31st minute, he headed the ball across the penalty area that Bobby Grant barely failed to connect with. Right before halftime, Grella was fouled in the area, but the referee said to play on.
