After long stretches where neither team show much spark, Wambach put the U.S in the lead in the 63rd minute, turning on a ball at the top right side of the penalty area and riffling a shot off of goalkeeper Stephanie Labbe’s hand.
Less than seven minutes later, Wambach made it 2-0. Kelly O’Hara ran down a ball on the right side, chasing all the way to the end line. She turned and found Wambach at the far post for the finish with the diving header.
Morgan closed out the scoring two minutes into stoppage time. Tobin Heath crossed a ball from the left into the penalty area, where Lauren Cheney headed it down and Morgan poked it in for her 10th goal of the year.
The U.S. tested Canadian starter Karina LeBlanc several times. LeBlanc's biggest save came in the 17th minute against a shot from Amy Rodriguez. Rodriguez fired a quick shot from close range that LeBlanc dove, knocking the ball wide.
The USA's best two chances, however, came off the foot of Megan Rapinoe. Just after the 30-minute mark, she was the last touch inside the Canadian box before firing it against the crossbar. Just a few minutes later, she tried a shot from distance that again hit the upper woodwork.
Labbe, who entered the game at halftime, came up with a big save of her own in the 52nd minute when she made a diving stop of a shot by Tobin Heath.
