Joe Gaetjens' goal to beat England at the 1950 World Cup, Paul Caligiuri's goal against T&T on November 19, 1989 to put the U.S. in the World Cup for the first time in 40 years, Brandi Chastain's penalty kick to give the U.S. WNT the 1999 Women's World Cup title, the start of MLS. All were part of bringing the game of soccer to where it is today.

NASL: Canadians to be considered as domestic players on U.S. clubs

The North American Soccer League Thursday announced a change to its roster rules, stating that Canadian players will now be considered domestic on the rosters of U.S. clubs.

KICKING OFF
NASL sets dates for openers, Championship Final; Cosmos to open at home on April 1

The North American Soccer League will kick off the Spring Season on Saturday, March 25, the league announced Friday. The Cosmos' home opener will be on Saturday, April 1 at a venue and time to be announced.
