Man U. Meulensteen in NYC this month

Manchester United coach René Meulensteen will be taking part in a series of events presented by Super Soccer Stars Premier over a four day period from June 21-24 in Manhattan.

Meulensteen, who was elevated to the post of one of Sir Alex Ferguson's assistants on the Premier League team after two stints working with the club's renowned youth academy program, will give a Youth Development Presentation covering a number of topics, including:

• Unleashing your child’s inner Wayne Rooney
• Managing youth athletes
• What to look for in a youth club
• Identifying player potential
• Mental toughness – tips for the parent and player
• Characteristics of a great team

The youth development presentation will culminate a number of events featuring the Manchester United coach. On Thursday evening, Meulensteen be the guest of honor at a VIP dinner and cocktail reception, and will give a presentation covering the growth of soccer in the United States and the outlook for Euro 2012, as well as stories of his experiences with Manchester United. There are a limited number of tickets for the event, which begins at 6:00 pm with the cocktail hour, followed by dinner at 7:30.

On Saturday, there will be a special viewing of the Euro 2012 quarterfinal match between the winner of Group C vs. runner up of Group D at the Playwright Irish Pub at 27 West 35th Street between 5th and 6th Ave, New York City.

Meulensteen will conduct a series of exclusive clinics for NY Stars Premier players on Saturday and Sunday.

The culmination of the four days will be the Sunday, June 24 presentation on youth development from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the JCC, 334 Amsterdam Avenue at 76th Street in Manhattan. Tickets for the presentation are $ 20 per person, which includes a raffle ticket for autographed Manchester United items .
