On a day that many American families gather together to say thanks, the Mashriqi family of Flushing, N.Y. found itself flying to all four corners of the globe on Thursday. Mohammad Mashriqi was headed to Dubai, United Arab Emirates to prepare with his Afghanistan National Team mates to play at the South Asian Football Federation Cup in New Delhi, India next month. Brother Sabir was in California to participate in a soccer tournament . And mother Safora wass in Saudi Arabia on a Hajji -- Arabic for pilgrimage. That's the life that Mohammad Mashriqi chose -- playing soccer.
