ALL-STAR SHOWCASE
Ironmen, BigAppleSoccer sponsor one for top New York high school seniors
In collaboration with BigAppleSoccer.com, the New Jersey Ironmen are presenting the 2009 New York Senior Boys All-Star Showcase at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Scheduled for Sunday, March 22, the game will take place after the Ironmen host the Milwaukee Wave at 1 p.m.
"We have been having great success with our New Jersey all-star Games, and we wanted to further develop the concept by extending into the New York market," Ironmen General Manger Tony Novo said. "The major metropolitan area has an extensive amount of talented soccer players, and we look to give them a platform to showcase their skills."
The Ironmen will be working with the staff of BigAppleSoccer.com to conduct the showcase. The selection process for the All-Stars will be filtered through BigAppleSoccer.com editor Michael Lewis. Athletic directors and head coaches that are interested in submitting nominations should send them directly to Lewis at BigAppleEdit@aol.com. Nominations should include the school name, nominator's name (AD, head coach), phone number and e-mail address, along with the candidate's name, position and any additional information that the person nominating would like to include to increase the player's chances of acceptance into the game. The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 9. Those players selected to play will be notified by that Friday, March 13th.
