NIGERIA BOUND
3 local players on U.S. U-17 WC team
Red Bulls Academy goalkeeper Keith Cardona and forward Juan Agudelo and B.W. Gottschee striker Dominick Sarle have been named to the U.S. Under-17 National Team that will participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria this month.
The three players were named to the roster by coach Wilmber Cabrera for the tournament, which kicks off Oct. 26.
The U.S. will play the first two group games against Spain on Oct. 26 and Malawi on Oct. 29, in Kano before moving to Ijebu-Ode to close out the first round against UAE Nov. 1.
The U.S. roster:
GOALKEEPERS: Keith Cardona (New York Red Bulls), Earl Edwards (Nomads SC), Spencer Richey (Crossfire Premier).
DEFENDERS: Zachary Herold (West Pines United FC), Perry Kitchen (Chicago Magic), Boyd Okwuonu (Tulsa Thunder), Tyler Polak (CSA Legacy), Jared Watts (North Meck SC.), Eriq Zavaleta (FC Pride).
MIDFIELDERS: Marlon Duran (Latino Americana), Luis Gil (Pateadores), Carlos Martinez (Wilmington Jr.), Will Packwood (Birmingham City, England), Nick Palodichuk (Washington Premier FC), Alex Shinsky (Super Nova FC).
