WIPING IT CLEAN
Cosmos remove fall table board from locker room

Giovanni Savarese: “We’re focusing only on one game and the only team you’ll see in our locker room on the board is New York Cosmos v Indianapolis." The Cosmos know where they stand. It was written on a white board in their locker room to see each day. While it may have been used as a motivational tool to get back in the fall title race, it won’t be used any longer.

SLIPPING AWAY
Cosmos could be eliminated for fall title contention as early as next week

After this weekend's results, it appears likely the Cosmos' path to the "The Championship" will not be as the North American Soccer League fall season champions.

SOME HEADY PLAYS
Stokkelien doesn't score a goal, but scores a lot of points with his coach

Mads Stokkelien did everything in his power to score a goal Sunday, but the soccer gods had some other ideas. Mads Stokkelien could not have done any better in the Cosmos' 1-1 draw at FC Edmonton Sunday. He played a vital role in New York's lone goal -- by Danny Szetela in the 51st minute -- and gave the Edmonton defense a workout in the penalty area in the first half at Clarke Stadium.

GONE WITH THE WIND
Unable to score with the wind in the first half, Cosmos settle for tie in Edmonton

Danny Szetela scored the Cosmos' lone goal. If the Cosmos fail to reach their goal of booking a spot in the North American Soccer League playoffs, they will be able to point to a number of games where they squandered points and opportunities. Sunday's 1-1 draw at FC Edmonton just might be one of them.

CANADIAN JOY
Cosmos have yet to lose north of the border, but could be facing most difficult test yet

Mads Stokkelien on playing in Edmonton: “I know for sure it’s going to be tough as a striker to get many chances. When I first get a chance I have to be sharp in this game." The Cosmos, who have yet to lose north of the border since their reboot last season, but Saturday's trip to Edmonton, Canada could very well be their most difficult trip yet.

SOME NEW TURF
FC Edmonton, notable for its poor playing surface, has it upgraded

The Cosmos' journeys to Edmonton have brought long trips, a tough opponent and an equally tough pitch. When they visit Sunday, the latter will be improved.
