Marcos Senna converted a penalty kick in the first half for the Cosmos. Marcos Senna converted a first-half penalty kick and North Babylon, N.Y. native Leo Fernandes scored his second goal of the season to power the Cosmos to a 2-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rowdies in their home opener.

Ex-Red Bull Bover, Hernandez, Neeskens' son sign with team's reserve squad

Ruben Bover has moved his game to the Cosmos B team. The Cosmos announced Wednesday the signings of three players who will be loaned to the Cosmos B team. Midfielders Ruben Bover, a former Red Bull, and Cristhian Hernandez, pending receipt of their P-1 visas, and defender John Neeskens will join the newly formed reserves team. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Ex-Red Bulls coach Mike Petke to be Cosmos TV analyst

Mike Petke will be dissecting plays instead of answering questions about his team when he works the Cosmos' home opener as a TV analyst vs. Tampa Bay Saturday. Former Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke is going back to his roots. Petke, who grew up in Bohemia, L.I. will join ONE World Sports as an on-air analyst and contributor to Cosmos broadcasts, the cable network announced on Monday.
