Italians at Rochester, Riders at Harrisburg in 2nd round of Open Cup

The two area survivors of the first round of the Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup tournament certainly did not have much time to celebrate or prepare for their second-round foes as they play on Tuesday.

The Brooklyn Italians (National Premier Soccer League) meet the Rochester Rhinos (USL PRO) at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. at 7:35 p.m. on May 22, while the Long Island Rough Riders (Premier Development League) visit the Harrisburg City Islanders (USL PRO) at Skyline Sports Complex in Harrisburg, Pas. at 7 p.m. that night.

The winners advance to the round on Tuesday, May 29.

If the Italians win, they would play the Philaelphia Union at PPL Park on May 29 at 7:30 p.m.

If the Rough Riders prevail, they would play at the New England Revolution at a venue and time to be determined.

The Red Bulls will play either Reading United or Harrisburg in the third round on May 29.

They will host either Reading (PDL) at Red Bull Arena at 7 p.m. that day or will visit the Charleston Battery (USL PRO) at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, S.C. at 7:30 p.m.
