SHARING THE WEALTH
Carrizo, Palacio players of the week
In a rare sharing of the same honor awarded by this website, Brooklyn Knights forward Mathias Carrizo and Long Island Rough Riders forward Michael Palacio were named co-winners of the BigAppleSoccer.com player of the week.
They were honored for the week ending on Sunday, May 17.
Carrizo recorded a hat-trick to propel the Knights to their first home victory of the season in a 5-1 Premier Development League victory over the New Hampshire Phantoms at the Aviator Sports and Recreation complex in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Sunday night.
Palacio connected for a hat-trick to power the Rough Riders men to a 3-1 PDL victory over the Newark Ironbound Express at St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, L.I. on Saturday night.
The win boosted the Knights (2-0-2, eight points) into second place in the Northeast Division, a point behind the Newark Ironbound Express (3-2-0, nine). The Phantoms (three) fell to 1-4-0.
