LI Fury post 3-0 win


BROOKLYN, NY---Maddie Haller had a goal and two assists to lead the Long Island Fury to a 3-0 win over CFC Passion Sunday at Aviator Field.

The Fury broke through midway through the first half, with a goal by Charlotte Miller on an assist by Haller. Haller served a ball from the flank that Miller touched around a defender and knocked past the goalkeeper.

Haller also did the heavy lifting on the second Fury goal, getting forward down the right flank and connecting with Jane Wallis, who put it in. The Fury's third goal came as Haller made a breakaway through the middle and beat the CFC goalkeeper.

The win leaves Long Island at 1-1, after they fell to Boston Aztecs 4-1 on Saturday night. Rachel Blum scored the only Long Island goal on an assist by Kayla Cappuzzo in the 22nd minute.
