DAY-TO-DAY
Status of Altidore, Mathis for Fire game

Forward Jozy Altidore and midfielder Clint Mathis are day-to-day for Saturday's game against the Chicago Fire. Red Bulls coach Bruce Arena said Thursday.

Altidore has missed two games with a left calf strain and earlier this week was listed as questionable.

"We haven't made a decision on him at this time," Arena said during a conference call.

Mathis, who suffered a bruised knee in Sunday's 3-0 loss, hasn't practiced with the team this week and is dealing with personal, family matters, Arena said.

"I would leave it up to Clint if he wants to make it public," Arena said.
