Red Bulls release Krupnik

The Red Bulls announced Wednesday they had terminated defender Leo Krupnik’s contract.

Krupnik last week agreed to terms with Maccabi Netanya in Israel, according to an Israeli internet newspaper, One.

Krupnik, 30, signed with the Red Bulls July 13 and wound up playing three games, starting two.

Krupnik played with Maccabi Netanya during the 2005-2006 season.

According to the MLS players union, Krupnik was to earn $144,000 over a full MLS season.
