Once Caldas, which is directed by former Red Bulls coach Juan Carlos Osorio, has gotten off to fabulous start in the Copa Libertadores Group 2 competition by accruing a perfect six points in its first two games.
The Colombian club defeated Nacional de Asucnion (Paraguay) in its group opener on Feb. 9, 2-0.
On Thursday, Once Caldas overcame a one-goal deficit in the first half en route to a 2-1 triumph over Sao Paulo (Brazil).
Following Once Caldas are Sao Paulo and Monterrey (Mexico) with three points apiece. Nacional has none after two games.
The Brazilians grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute thanks to a goal by goalkeeper and free kick specialist Rogerio Ceni.
But after that it was all Once Caldas, which had goals from Fernando ribe and Dayro Moreno.
Former Red Bulls right fullback Carlos Johnson, who was released by the MLS club last week, signed and but did not play Thursday.
