NEW MIDFIELDER?
Report: Ze Roberto says yes to Red Bulls

Is Hamburg SV midfielder Ze Roberto coming to the Red Bulls?

According to the Gemran website www.fussballtransfers.com, the Brazilian veteran apparently has accepted an offer to join the MLS club.

I do not wish to discuss the matter yet, Ze Roberto was quoted by fussballtransfers.com.

However, the report said the 35-year-old Ze Roberto was likely to accept the team's offer.

On March 4, Dietmar Beiersdorfer, the sporting director for the entire Red Bull organization and the sporting director at Hamburg (Germany), said wants his former club's midfielder for the Red Bulls.

Ze Roberto is at the top of the list of desired targets. He is signed with Hamburg through 2011.

A two-time World Cupper (1998 and 2006) Ze Roberto spent most of his career in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, and Hamburg. He also has played for Portuguesa, Real Madrid, Flamengo and Santos.

BigAppleSoccer.com originally reported on Feb. 9 that Ze Roberto was a Red Bull target.
