Red Bulls say they have been approached about Henry loan, await announcement

The Red Bulls said on Friday that they have been approached by Arsenal for a short-term loan of team captain and striker Thierry Henry.

Apparently, the Major League Soccer club has approved the deal.

"An official announcement is pending approval of certain paperwork," a Red Bulls spokesman said.

Earlier on Friday, the English Premier League club said they were finalizing a deal to bring the former French international over on a two-month loan.

The window transfer window opens on Jan. 1.
