Why Backe won't coach Bulls in Vancouver

Thierry Henry and Rafa Marquez won't be only promiment members of the Red Bulls organization that will miss Wednesday night's encounter at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

So will coach Hans Backe.

Backe said on Monday afternoon that he will not attend the game at BC Place (MSG+, 11 p.m. ET) "because of personal matters."

Assistant coaches Jan Halvor Halvorsen and Mike Petke will run the team, Backe said.
