Miller probably will miss 2 weeks with groin injury
By Michael Lewis
HARRISON, N.J. -- Well, three out of four ain't bad.
Three of the Red Bulls players who performed internationally over the last FIFA date returned in tip top shape. Only left back Roy Miller came back as damaged goods with a groin injury.
Red Bulls coach Hans Backe estimated that the Costa Rican would be sidelined about two two weeks.
"Normally talking about a couple of weeks, I guess," he said.
The other three internationals were in top shape -- Puerto Rico goalkeeper Bill Gaudette, who returned home on Monday, before the Caribbean Cup qualifying round was completed, and midfielders Tim Cahill of Australia and Joel Lindpere of Estonia.
"The way Joel and Tim played today, you can definitely see that they haven't been away eight to 10 days and traveling," Backe said after practice at Red Bull Arena. "They were both flying. Surprsiingly good."
None of the Red Bulls' international players' teams, however, registered wins in qualifiers. Costa Rica fell twice to Mexico, while Australia lost in Jordan in its Asian match and Estonia dropped two games.
The Red Bulls host the Columbus Crew in a Major League Soccer match here at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
