HOW RED BULLS CAN CLINCH
To reach playoffs, they must beat Fire and if Dynamo loses to Impact or Crew loses, ties with KC

The Red Bulls are only a win away from the Major League Soccer playoffs, but they need some help from some enemies as well.

New York (15-8-8, 53 points) can clinch a berth if the team defeats the Chicago Fire (16-9-5, 53) in a home encounter on Saturday and if the Houston Dynamo (13-8-10, 49) loses to the Montreal Impact (12-15-4, 40) on Saturday or the Columbus Crew (14-11-6, 48) ties or loses against Sporting Kansas City (17-7-7, 58) on Sunday.

With three games remaining in the regular season, the Red Bulls are tied with Chicago , five points behind Eastern Conference leaders Kansas City.

The Fire has a game in hand and will look to move up the table with that extra match as it hosts the Philadelphia Union at Toyota Park on Wednesday night.

KC is the only conference team to secure a post-season berth to date.
