Red Bulls midfielder Tim Cahill is a wanted man -- by several English Premier League clubs this winter.

Five EPL teams reportedly are interested in getting the Australian international midfielder on loan, most likely over a six-week period when the winter transfer window opens in January.

Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle United, Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing Cahill on loan, according to the Press Association. The winter transfer window opens in January.

Cahill performed for Everton before he joined the Major League Soccer club as a Designated Player in July.

The veteran midfielder has said he wants to return to play in the EPL on loan, the Mirror reported in November.

“With my move, the main thing is that I get to enjoy the MLS, but I also get the chance of going back to the Premier League and playing in the best league in the world," Cahill told the Mirror on Nov. 19. “I am eager to come back and, hopefully, something can be done with Everton.

“It would be nice, but it is not down to me. I have to respect that sometimes the ship has sailed, but I know I have a lot more to offer.”
