Jamaican interational midfielder Dane Richards could wind up seeing some action for his new team as early as Saturday.

Richards, who played with the New York Red Bulls and Vancouver Whitecaps, could make his debut when Burnley visits Barnsley in the third round of the English F.A. Cup on Saturday, according to the English Championship team's website.

The 29-year-old Richards, who transferred to Burnley after the 2012 Major League Soccer season, has received his international clearance and could be added to the team, the Burnley website reported.

The two clubs played to a 1-1 draw at Barnsley in league action in November.

Barnsley has won only once in 15 games since that meeting. Manager Keith Hill was fired on Dec. 29.
