Left back Roy Miller might have had problems playing regularly for the Red Bulls, but the Costa Rican national coach Jorge Luis Pinto still has faith in him.

Miller has been recalled by the Ticos for next Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Panama. It is the opening CONCACAF hexagonal match for both teams.

The Costa Rican Football Federation made the announcement on its website.

He will not miss any playing time with the club because it is in pre-season.

Miller is one of four Major League Soccer players on the team. He is joined by midfielder Rodney Wallace (Portland Timbers) and forwards Alvaro Saborio (Real Salt Lake) and Jairo Arrieta (Columbus Crew).

The 28-year-old Miller fell out of favor with former Red Bulls coach Hans Backe in the second half of last season due to his poor play and inconsistent performances.

Since joining the team in 2010, the 6-2, 166-lb. Miller had the least amount of playing time during his three-year tenure. He played in 24 teams, starting 20, and saw 1,1662 minutes of action. He assisted on six goals. He never has scored in 79 appearances over 6,309 minutes.

Due to the great turnover on the team, Miller ranks No. 1 among Red Bulls players in tenure.
