Report: Luyindula to join Red Bulls

Former Paris St German striker Peguy Luyindula is expected to join the Red Bulls soon, according to a French website.

Luyindula, who played with Red Bulls captain Thierry Henry on the French National Team, will fly to Tucson, Ariz. to be with the Major League Soccer team, according to He also played with Red Bulls midfielder Juninho when the two were with Lyon from 2002-2004.

The Red Bulls will be training in Arizona and participating in the Tucson Diamond Desert Classic, a pre-season tournament.

The 33-year-old Luyindula also has played for Strasbourg, Marseille and Auxerre in France and Levante in Spain. He made 14 appearances with the French Under-21 team, scoring 14 goals and played six times for the full national side, scoring once.

According to the website, MLS has not confirmed the signing and whether he has a visa.

The Red Bulls could not be reached for comment.
