Now this bit of news should not surprise any Red Bulls fans:
Former New York defender-midfielder Rafa Marquez has been sidelined from Leon for two weeks due to leg injuries.
Marquez, a long-time member of the Mexican National Team who has not seen any international action since last year, is suffering from not one, but two leg injuries, Mexican soccer magazine Esto reported on its website.
After a recent Mexican First Division game against San Luis, Leon team physican Dr. Saul Juarez said Marquez has a blow to his right leg, which has been painful, and that he suffers from muscle spasms on his left leg, according to Esto.
Marquez won't play against Chivas and Puebla in weeks 8 and 9 of the Clausura season.
He also is not training with the club.
