HARRISON, N.J. -- The Red Bulls have one piece of hardware for their trophy case. Now, can they make it a unique double and add the MLS Cup trophy?

Team captain Thierry Henry, who celebrated winning the Supporters Shield on Sunday, cautioned about how difficult it will be for the Major League Soccer side to win in the playoffs. He noted that the double has not been accomplished very often in the league's 18-year history.

"We will see. Since Iíve been here [in the league] the only team that won the Supportersí Shield and won it [the MLS Cup] was L.A., so hopefully we can do the same thing," he said after the Red Bulls polished off the Chicago Fire, 5-2, in their regular-season finale at Red Bull Arena. "The history from the last couple of years showed thatís not always the case. Hopefully we can do it. I think we have the quality to do it, but I also think you have a lot of teams that can do that in this league."

For one night, however, the Red Bulls rightfully celebrated their achievement as regular-season league champions in front of their most ardent fans who sit -- err, make that stand -- during games in the South Ward.

"It was good. It was good," Henry said. "I think the fans, us, we will always remember that. But like I said before, you got to follow with the rest [winning the MLS Cup]. Hopefully we can. If we talk about tonight, as in tonight and not tomorrow, itís a great moment, great moment. Weíve been waiting for that for a very long time and I guess people that have been at the club before me even longer Ė thatís why for me, I didnít even see when the Shield arrived on the field.

"I think was on the other side of the field. I wanted Mike [Petke] and [everyone whose been here a long time] to lift the Shield before everybody else. I guess some of the guys got their hands on it before."

Forever the team captain, Henry looked ahead.

"Soon itís going to be another day and weíre going to have to prepare for the playoffs," he said.

For the Red Bulls, the playoffs will begin next Saturday or Sunday against the winner of the Eastern Conference knockout series between the Montreal Impact and Houston Dynamo.
