Harrison, N.J. – Pre-season training camp is set to begin next week for the Red Bulls and already the names of some of the trialists are beginning to emerge.
BigAppleSoccer.com has learned that the Red Bulls expect to take a look at Under-23 product Sammy Adjei, Widner Saint Cyr and Miguel Ibarra when they head to Orlando, Fla. next week, according to a league source.
One of the players has strong ties to the club.
Adjei joined the Red Bull Academy in 2007 and has progressed through the ranks of the program. The 20-year-old has been a part of the U-18 United States national team but is also part of the player pool for Ghana. The senior forward at Iona College was the team captain this past season.
After five years at the University Maryland, Saint Cyr is a midfielder whose future could well be along the backline at the next level.
Set to turn 24-year-old in March, Ibarra has made a healthy 54 appearances over the past two seasons for the North American Soccer League side in Minnesota. Born in New York City, the midfielder had a standout career at UC-Irvine.
