Nick Sakiewicz said the report of the Red Bulls re-evaluating plans to play at the soccer-specific stadium in Harrison, N.J. were untrue.

Nick Sakiewicz, president of Anschutz Entertainment Group Soccer for New York/New Jersey, said on Wednesday that reports the New York Red Bulls were re-evaluating plans to build a soccer-specific stadium in Harrison, N.J., were "completely 100 percent untrue."
Sakiewicz was responding to a story published in Wednesday's editions of the New York Times that said that Red Bull was "more inclined to stay in the New Jersey Meadowlands, which is recognized around the world as the soccer destination in the New York metropolitan area."
He said that wasn't the case.
"We are moving ahead with our soccer stadium as planned," he said.
Sakiewicz, former president and general manager of the MetroStars (now the Red Bulls) who spearheaded the project for six years, said that stadium ground-breaking is scheduled for this summer and that is will be completed for the start of the 2008 MLS season.
"We just signed a long-tern form between the town the county," he said.
Sakiewicz said he also was president of Red Bull Park LLC.
Austrian energy drink giant Red Bull purchased the MetroStars in March in more than a $100 million package that includes ownership of the team, owning half of the stadium with AEG and stadium naming rights.
