USA-Costa Rica WCQ match is a sellout
More than a month prior to the kickoff of the United States' first home World Cup qualifying match of the CONCACAF hexagonal round, the confrontation against Costa Rica is a sellout.
A capacity crowd will watch the match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. at 10 p.m. ET on March 22 (ESPN, WatchESPN and UniMas).
Following an advance sale for U.S. Soccer Supporters Club members, Colorado Rapids season ticket holders, tickets on sale to the general public sold out within one hour.
While the USA-Costa Rica match is officially sold out, a limited number of Ultimate Fan Tickets (a special VIP package that includes a premium ticket, official U.S. National Team jersey with the name and number of your choice, VIP access to the field before and after the game and other unique benefits) are available exclusively through ussoccer.com. A limited number of tickets also were set aside for fans who wanted to upgrade their complete travel package to the game in Colorado. If you want further information about the upgrade or have questions about the travel package, call 800-736-6377.
The U.S. is part of the six-team Hexagonal along with Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico and Panama.
The 10-game, round-robin format will be contested through Oct.15. The top three teams will advance to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, while the fourth-place team will compete in a two-leg playoff against the Oceania champion.
