BigAppleSoccer.com editor wins award for column
BigAppleSoccer.com editor Michael Lewis was named the winner of the column category in the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America writing contest.
Lewis earned earned the award for his Offside Remarks column: "Sundhage meant more than just wins and titles,” which recognized the contributions by former U.S. women's national coach Pia Sundhage.
It was the 11th time Lewis was honored by the NSCAA.

West Virginia sports information director Tim Goodenow’s story “The Long Road Back” on WVUSports.com was the winning article for the feature story category. He earned his second NSCAA Writing Award in addition to the one he won in 2008.
Jane Allison Havsy from the Daily Record (N.J.) won the deadline/game story category. Her feature was entitled “With heavy hearts, Randolph boys win state soccer match” chronicled the Rams' victory in the state championship despite a tragedy.
NSCAA All-America honoree Morgan Andrews was the winner in the high school student writer category, as she was a guest writer for EqualizerSoccer.com. Her post, "Impossibility is Nothing" was one of a series she did during her journey in the Under-17 World Cup qualifying matches.
