U.S. women on PPV at Algarve Cup

Integrated Sports Media will be delivering the action from all of the U.S. women's National Team games at the Algarve Cup in Portugal.

The defending Olympic champions and eight-time Algarve champions open against Iceland on March 6 at Municipal Stadium in Albufeira. Telecast time is 9 a.m. ET.

The USA's second Group B match, against China PR on March 8, also will be in Albufeira with a kickoff at 9 a.m. ET.

The Americans will finish group play on March 11 against Sweden at the Municipal Stadium in Lagos with a start time of 10 a.m. ET.

The U.S. team will play a placement game at a time to be determined based on their group standing on March 13. This match will be shown live.

Live on both cable and satellite pay-per-view, the matches are available on iN Demand, TVN, DirectTV and DISH for a suggested retail price of $14.95 per match. This is the first time Algarve Cup games will be available live on United States television.

The U.S. typically fields its strongest lineup for the Algarve Cup, which is the world's premier annual women's soccer tournament.

The meeting with Iceland will be the fourth for the USA at the Algarve Cup, with the Americans holding a 3-0-0 record. The last match between the USA and Iceland at the Algarve Cup came in 2011, when Iceland made a surprising run to the championship game before falling 4-2 to the Americans.

The USA will play China for the seventh time at the tournament. The U.S. women are 4-1-1 against China in Portugal, including two meetings in the championship game, a 2-1 loss in 1999 and a 2-0 win in 2003.

The group finale against Sweden will mark the first time the USA will face former head coach Pia Sundhage since she ended her five-year run in the USA to take over the head coaching job with her native country. The USA has played Sweden 12 times at the Algarve Cup with Sweden finding a bit of success in the tournament. The USA has recorded a 6-2-4 mark. The USA played Sweden in the championship game in 2009 and tied 1-1 in regulation before falling in penalty kicks.
