ENY BOYS U-14 FINAL
Manhattan Cruzeiro 2, Dix Hills Wlite 1

Manhattan Cruzeiro defeated the Dix Hills Elite, 2-1, to win the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association Boys Under-14 State Open Cup in misty conditions at Stringham Park in LaGrange, N.Y. on June 2.

“Our overall talent and teamwork made the difference to win the State Open Cup,” Manhattan Cruzeiro coach Wilson Egidio said.

Scoring Manhattan’s goals were Ousmane Barry and Matthew Cooney.

It was a special day for the Barovick family as Sam, a central defender and midfielder, won the State Open Cup with Cruzeiro and his older brother Jeremy, the captain who anchors the midfield, won the Boys U-15 Open Cup crown with Manhattan Paris Saint-Germain. Both Barovicks played the entire game.

Manhattan Cruzeiro will play at the Region I tournament in Lancaster, Pa. from June 28 to July 3.
