Dix Hills player Burgess wins it
Dix Hills Heat player Nkosi Burgess has been named the winner of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association goal of the year.
Burgess scored the game in a 2-0 victory for the 2011 State Cup champions against Hauppauge Brazil in a Long Island Junior Soccer League boys game at Dowling College in Shirley, N.Y. on March 24.
Burgess, a Deer Park, N.Y. resident who celebrated his 15th birthday the day prior, received a 40-yard free kick. He flicked the ball into the air with his right foot before scoring on an eight-yard bicyce kick.
Dix Hills has been coached by Cordt Weinstein, who scored the most goals in Long Island Rough Rider history before he retired. The Rough Riders won two national championships (1995 and 2002).

The video went viral and received more than million hits on You Tube the first two weeks after the goal, according to ENYYSA.
Burgessí goal is being considered for the Region 1 goal of the year.
