TOP-SEEDED
MLK H.S. No. 1 entering PSAL playoffs
Martin Luther King High School is the top seed in the Public School Athletic League Class A playoffs.
The Knights (12-0), who captured the Manhattan A League title, earned an opening-round bye in the tournament, along with two other teams.
MLS's first game is scheduled for Tuesday, a second-round encounter.
Beacon, the 2010 champion, was named the second seed, Francis Lewis, a finalist in the past four of five season, was third, and Bronx A champion was fourth.
John Adams, the Queens A West division champions, was the fifth seed. Staten Island co-chaions New Dorp and Tottenville were next, followed by Bronx Science, Bayside and Fort Hamilton.
The tournament schedule:
Second round – Tuesday, Oct. 30 at higher seeds (3:30 p.m.)
Quarterfinals – Friday, Nov. 2 at higher seeds (3:30 p.m.)
Semifinals – Nov. 6 at Randall’s Island (noon)
Final – Nov. 11 at Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn (4 p.m.)
