ENYYSA providing $80,000 for leagues, clubs and families

Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association is providing $80,000 in funds for its Hurricane Sandy Relief Program for its leagues, clubs and families.

The association has a three-point plan:

* ENYYSA will match all approved Region 1 Hurricane Relief Grants, up to $2,000 per soccer league or club, which sustained facility damage. All applications not approved by Region 1 will be reviewed by the ENYYSA president Richard Christiano to determine need and viability.

* ENYYSA leagues and clubs are sponsoring fundraising efforts for families who sustained enormous personal loss. ENYYSA will match up to $2,000 per fundraiser.

* A Pay Pal donation app is now displayed on ENYYSA’s website. Visit to make a donation.

“Many of our members have suffered a tremendous amount of hardship from Hurricane Sandy. It’s times like these that all Americans, including the soccer community, come together to help,” Christiano said. “We at the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association are very happy to be able to provide this support for our members during this very difficult time.”
