The field is located at the Dean Skelos Sports Complex on Peninsula Boulevard.
Former RVC SC players participated in an alumni game and were part of the dedication of the field, which is the south soccer/lacrosse field of the sports complex.
Bralower was one of the original volunteers of the club at its founding in 1971 and club president for 10 years. Bralower, a National Soccer Coaches Association of America national coach brought cutting-edge programs to the RVC club that continue to this day in an effort to develop the players’ skill levels. The players that Bralower coached went on to help the South Side High School girls win an 17 New York state championships.
He initiated the player-give back program, Kids Teaching Kids, in which the older players teach the younger ones soccer skills and tactics, free-of-charge. It is one of the highlights of the summer for Rockville Centre’s players and is entering its 40th year.
The last Royals girls team that Bralower coached was a top Long Island Junior Soccer League team. The side won the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association State Open Cup, the Kirkwood (Del.) tournament, were WAGS finalists and competed in the Region I Premier League. Last summer, the team won a Long Island women’s soccer league championship for the fifth consecutive year.
Bralower, a LIJSL Hall of Famer, also also influential in bringing the TOPSoccer program for Special Children to the RVC S.C.
